About Me

My name is Salvador Galante, and I am an aspiring sound designer focused on foley, audio editing, and sound creation for games, films, and video content. In June 2026, I completed my Audiovisual and Multimedia bachelor's degree at Escola Superior de Comunicação Social, where I developed skills in audio production, audiovisual workflows, 3D, and creative multimedia projects.

I enjoy working with recorded audio and sound libraries to create immersive and impactful sound, as well as editing and shaping audio to better support visual storytelling.

I have experience using Reaper as my main DAW, along with basic knowledge of Pro Tools. I also have experience with 3D modeling in Blender. In addition, I am currently learning Wwise and MetaSounds/Blueprints in Unreal Engine to further develop my skills in interactive audio and game sound design.

My projects include sound redesigns, audio post-production work, voice recordings, and sound editing exercises. I have also worked as a boom operator on academic short film projects. In my work, I always aim to improve clarity, detail, and overall audio quality while continuing to develop my skills and explore new techniques as a sound designer.

What I do

From redesigning game and film audio to recording on-set sound. Here's how I work.

Sound Redesign
Recreating and redesigning audio for games and film trailers from scratch, using synthesis, libraries and processing to match the visual and sonic identity of each project.
Foley & SFX
Creating original foley sounds and custom SFX using recorded audio, libraries and synthesis. Focused on clarity, realism and impact in every detail.
Audio Post-Production
Editing and shaping audio to support visual content — dialogue editing, SFX layering, filtering, pitch shifting and mixing for film and video.
Boom Operator
On-set audio capture for academic short films, ensuring clear dialogue and clean sound recordings throughout production.
Voice Recording & Editing
Recording and editing voice performances to enhance their expressive and emotional qualities, adapting tone and delivery to match narrative and atmosphere.
3D Modelling
Basic experience with Blender for 3D modelling, complementing audio work with an understanding of visual production pipelines.

Sound Redesign

A Quiet Place: Trailer

Film
Full sound redesign of the trailer using assets from Epidemic Sound. Applied dynamic mixing and intentional use of silence to enhance narrative tension.
Metro Exodus

Game
Sound redesign using Epidemic Sound and SoundQ libraries, complemented by Reformer Pro for the early footstep sounds. Applied filtering, pitch shifting and other processing techniques to ensure sonic coherence throughout.
Zarya: Overwatch Abilities

Game
Redesigned sound effects for Zarya's abilities using the Vital synthesizer, ensuring consistency with the character's and game's sonic identity. Enhanced reload and secondary sounds with Epidemic Sound assets.
Virtua Fighter: Gameplay Concept

Full sound redesign of the gameplay concept, focused on creating an immersive and dynamic audio experience for the combat between characters. Designed and layered SFX, ambience and impacts to enhance the visual and emotional tone of the scene.

Sound redesign using audio libraries and custom-recorded zombie sounds. Focus on enhancing gameplay audio — footsteps, gunshots, reloads and zombie interactions — to create a more immersive and impactful experience.

Academic Short Film

Worked as boom operator and video editor on this academic short film. Captured on-set audio to ensure clear dialogue and clean sound recording, and later edited the video into the final cut.

A short film about two friends waiting for another to join them for sushi. When she arrives late, they watch tutorials on how to eat sushi properly — until the food turns out to be very spicy, shifting the tone into something more tense and unsettling.

A short film about an elderly man recalling memories of his youth, inspired by the poem "O Recreio". Themes of nostalgia, time and childhood.

This 3D project was developed with the goal of creating an animation and building a low-poly city. Throughout the process, all the assets were created by us, including the buildings, objects, and different environment elements, allowing us to develop our skills in 3D modeling, composition, and design. The project also aimed to explore the creation of visually simple yet detailed environments, using the low-poly aesthetic to give identity and consistency to the final animation.

This project was developed with the objective of recreating a real-life object as realistically as possible using 3D modeling techniques. The main focus was on achieving accurate details, textures, lighting, and proportions in order to make the object closely resemble its real-world version. For this project, I chose to create a microphone, modeling each part to capture its realistic appearance and overall design.

This project was developed with the objective of recreating a real space from our own home in 3D while maintaining as much realism as possible. I chose to recreate my kitchen, focusing on accurate proportions, lighting, materials, and details to make the environment closely resemble the real-life space. The project allowed me to improve my skills in interior modeling, texturing, and realistic scene composition.
3D Animation Showreel Project

This project consisted of creating a set of animations and combining them into a showreel. The goal was to demonstrate a variety of 3D skills within a single final presentation. The showreel included character animation, object integration into real video footage, particle systems, and node-based workflows.
